Live stream update: new date, but more to come in the meantime
Dear fans
First off we would like to thank all of you for your immense support during the past week. It is truly heartwarming to see that even during these incredibly difficult times, we can count on you. 🖤
We could never ask for so much without giving something back in return and this is why we wanted to live stream a full Cellar Darling show on the 5th of April directly into your living room. When we developed the idea and started planning the event, things started changing rapidly and took on forms previously unimaginable to us (and probably most of you, too). The measures taken by the Swiss government started out as a ban on public events and large gatherings and have by now developed into a lockdown as cases of coronavirus are increasing rapidly throughout our country.
Last Friday the government issued a recommendation to all citizens to stay at home and announced a countrywide ban on gatherings of more than five people. Simultaneously, Soundfarm (the recording studio where Anna works as an engineer) has to temporarily shut its doors to customers and bands to keep within the boundaries of reasonable safety measures.
Even if we could still somehow pull this off ourselves in a different location, we would decide against it as it doesn't send the right message, doesn't comply with the recommendations of social distancing and because we feel obliged to set an example to others. We haven't met up within the band in over two weeks and should keep it that way until things calm down and we urge everyone who can to do the same in order to flatten the curve and keep people from getting sick. We are just as upset as some of you might be, but we also assume that most of you will understand.
☝️BUT (yeah that's right, there is a ‘but'): we remain committed to the live stream we promised at a later date, and have come up with some ideas to shorten the wait, creativity being our main area of expertise. As you can imagine, we have no first hand experience with a pandemic resulting in lockdown, but we're trying to make the best of it.
👉 Compliant with this new way of living, we will launch a ‘lockdown content’ page on the 5th of April featuring solo performances, playthroughs, interviews, and more —we might even be taking some requests...
🗓 We will start this off by doing a live Q&A session on the originally planned date and time, that is on 5 April at 20:00 CET. In the meantime, will stay in touch with all of you and gather inputs as to what you would like to see and hear.
⚠️ The live performance which was originally planned, will definitely NOT be cancelled. A new date has been set, which is the 3rd of May at 20:00 CET. We hope that by then things will have calmed down and that we can go through with it.
Stay strong, stay healthy. We love you. See you soon. 💪🙏🖤
